The Honorable James C. Campbell serves as Sumter County Clerk of Court. He was elected in November 2004 and sworn in on January 3, 2005. Clerk Campbell graduated from Thomas Sumter Academy in 1988, earned a BBA from Francis Marion University in 1992, and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Troy State University in 1998. He has served as both Vice President and President of the SC Clerks of Courts and Register of Deeds Association and was voted Clerk of the Year in 2022. He serves on the CFS, FCCMS, and CCB committees and assisted with planning the county's Judicial Center.
